Msgr Bernd Theodoor Wallet was consecrated bishop in the Lebuïnuskerk in Deventer on 18 September 2021. He was already elected to succeed Archbishop Joris Vercammen of Utrecht on 15 February 2020, but due to the pandemic he had to wait one and a half years for the consecration. The newly consecrated bishop looks back on an “overwhelming and festive celebration that felt solemn and at the same time friendly and close”. The official inauguration took place the next day in St. Gertrudis Cathedral in Utrecht.
